That corner is dominated by three vehicles: the Bentley Bentayga, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and the Lamborghini Urus. At their new-car MSRPs, all three sat well north of $250,000. On the used market — where these vehicles depreciate meaningfully faster than the mainstream believes — they land in a range that makes them accessible to a small but real buyer pool.

Design and Presence
Bentley Bentayga
Understated in Bentley's specific sense — the presence is earned through craftsmanship rather than shouted through styling. The Bentayga looks like a serious luxury vehicle without demanding attention. Interior craftsmanship is arguably the best of the three when the Bentayga is optioned with the Mulliner interior treatment.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan
Unmistakable. The Cullinan wears the classic Rolls-Royce grille and Spirit of Ecstasy on an SUV body. Rear-hinged coach doors. Star-liner headliner with fiber-optic stars. Champagne cooler in the trunk on higher trims. If the Bentayga is understated, the Cullinan is monumental.
Lamborghini Urus
Aggressive. The Urus is styled to make it clear it is a Lamborghini before it is an SUV. Sharp angles, hexagonal design language throughout, quad exhaust tips. Interior is more performance-focused than luxury-focused — the Urus is a sports car with an SUV body more than the reverse.

The Character Question
Bentley Bentayga Is a Grand Tourer
The Bentayga's design brief is a Bentley Continental GT in SUV form. Long-distance comfort, exceptional interior craftsmanship, adequate performance (very adequate, in W12 form), and a serene driving character that makes it feel like nothing else on the road. The Bentayga is the SUV for buyers who value what happens inside the vehicle above what the vehicle does when you push the throttle.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan Is a Statement
The Cullinan is Rolls-Royce's argument that ultra-luxury does not require a sedan. Interior noise is measurably quieter than any other production vehicle. The chassis is calibrated for "magic-carpet" ride quality. Rear-seat treatment (especially in Executive Package configurations) rivals a private jet cabin. The Cullinan is bought for the passengers, not just the driver.
Lamborghini Urus Is a Weapon
The Urus is a Lamborghini first. The V8 sounds appropriate. The chassis is calibrated for aggression. The Urus is the SUV for buyers who want a supercar experience in a five-door body — daily-drivable performance that will out-accelerate almost anything else on the road.
Performance Reality
At the top trims:
- Urus Performante: 3.5-second 0–60 mph. Highest performance of the three.
- Bentayga Speed W12: 3.6-second 0–60 mph.
- Cullinan Black Badge: 4.8-second 0–60 mph.
The Cullinan is by design not the performance answer. If straight-line pace matters, the Urus and Bentayga Speed are the choices. If straight-line pace does not matter and interior craftsmanship is the priority, the Cullinan is the answer.
Reliability and Ownership Cost
None of the three are Toyota Land Cruisers. All three require serious owner commitment.
Bentley Bentayga: Shares much of its drivetrain and platform with the VW Group (Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus). Repair costs are more accessible than the Cullinan because of that shared parts DNA. Realistic annual ownership: $8,000–$14,000.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan: Rolls-Royce is a BMW subsidiary using shared platform architecture (F01 7 Series-derived), but nearly every component is bespoke. Repair costs are extraordinary. Realistic annual ownership: $15,000–$30,000.
Lamborghini Urus: Shares the MLB Evo platform with the Bentayga and Q7. Repair cost sits between the Bentley and the Rolls. Realistic annual ownership: $10,000–$18,000.
Tire cost across all three: $4,000–$8,000 per set. Brake work: $6,000–$18,000 depending on trim and pad choice.
The Used Market Reality
Ultra-luxury depreciation is punishing for original owners and rewarding for used buyers.
- Bentley Bentayga W12: New MSRP roughly $260,000. Used at 40,000–60,000 miles trades in the $50,000–$85,000 range. Massive depreciation captured.
- Rolls-Royce Cullinan: New MSRP roughly $330,000–$400,000. Retains value better than the Bentayga in the used market but still depreciates hard from second owner on.
- Lamborghini Urus: New MSRP roughly $220,000–$260,000. Retains value best of the three because production is more constrained.
For buyers okay with a slightly older example, the Bentley Bentayga at current used pricing is one of the most surprising values in luxury automobiles anywhere.
Which One Should You Buy?
Buy the Bentley Bentayga if: You want the finest interior craftsmanship of the three at the most accessible used pricing. The Bentayga W12 at current pricing is the ultra-luxury value proposition of the moment.
Buy the Rolls-Royce Cullinan if: You want the ultimate luxury statement. Nothing else on the road delivers the same experience. Ownership commitment is real. So is the reward.
Buy the Lamborghini Urus if: You want a supercar in an SUV body. The Urus is the performance answer, and it is the most likely of the three to retain its value.
